From the President
Hello PCUCA:
May has been an exciting month for the PCUCA and June looks even better! I would like to give a special “Thanks” to all the volunteers that participated this year in the cleaning of the Ronald McDonald house. It’s a testimony to our industry and the PCUCA that so many cleaning companies took time out of their busy schedules to help out with such a worthy cause. We had 7 companies participate and clean the entire house, three levels. The companies include: 5280 Commercial Carpet Cleaning & Restoration, Ace Carpet & Upholstery, Chancey & Sons, Academy Services, Fine Carpet & Fabric Care, Chase Carpet Care, and Miracle Services.
I look forward to seeing everybody June 28th for the first annual PCUCA Summer Family Fun Day at Elitch’s Gardens. Price is $35 dollars a person all day and includes a catered dinner from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Of course, all family and friends are welcome. If you have kids or have ever been to Elitch’s before, you know how expensive it can be. This is a great deal! Call the office now to get your tickets or go to our website at www.PCUCA.org.
Coming up on July 22nd is PCUCA Summer Family Fun Evening at a Colorado Rockies game. We have rented the Platte River Pavilion for a full dinner included with this package. The total price for the dinner and ticket is $37.00
Both of these events will fill up quickly, and this is a great way to keep your employees and family members happy as we all work some of our busiest months of the year during the summer. Bring your family, employees, customers and friends to this fun event.
Larry Cooper, the PCUCA Executive Director will teach three workshops for the PCUCA on building a commercial contract side of the carpet cleaning business. This is an opportunity for you to expand your company and add great value to the worth of your business. Seating is limited and these workshops are closed to members of PCUCA only.
Another great opportunity that is available for all PCUCA members is joining one of our committees that the Board of Directors has been working on. You do not need to be a board member to make a difference within the PCUCA. The committees that need your help are the following: Education Committee headed by Joel Ruehle, Marketing Committee headed by Sam Castro, Structure/Administration Committee headed by Div Manula, and Membership Committee headed by Jim Goldsworthy. We would love for you to take part in developing these committees and grow the PCUCA!
On one last final note, Las Vegas Connections. Hands down, this will be the event you don’t want to miss this year. We have two excellent keynote speakers. T. Harv Eker, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind and Keith Cunningham, Keys to the Vault. Please keep in mind, this event is one of the top fundraisers for the association, so money does come in to the PCUCA for every one of our members that attends. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for September 24, 25 and 26, 2008. If you are a member of WFCA start planning to apply for the grant education dollars available for you, up to $500 a year!
We invite your ideas and input for the newsletter. If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., please feel free to contact me directly. You can contact me at conklinandrew@yahoo.com, or you contact the PCUCA management company Meetings and Events and Larry Cooper at the address on the back of the newsletter.
Thank you and keep your eyes out for more going on within the PCUCA as we keep pushing forward! Sincerely,

Andrew Conklin, President
